The mission of the Society of Broadcast Engineers is rooted in education. The SBE Education Committee works to create educational opportunities for broadcast engineers that provide practical knowledge, further their personal and professional development and increase their value to employers.

SBE chapters are an excellent and regular source for education. Most chapters meet monthly and feature presentations about broadcast technology, regulations or other topics related to the field.

Nationally, SBE sponsors educational seminars to help keep broadcast engineers up-to-date on emerging technologies and issues facing the broadcast industry. Some of these programs are presented in conjunction with the Ennes Educational Foundation Trust, a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization established to further the educational goals of SBE.  Others are presented in cooperation  with other industry organizations.

SBE also presents a two-part SBE Leader-Skills Seminar that is designed to train broadcast engineers who have, or aspire to have, management responsibilities.
