Overview
This webinar will cover the Dante/AoIP mechanism with a detailed overview of the technology and how it’s implemented into manufacturers’ products. In addition, this seminar will cover the Dante exclusive primary and secondary built-in backup failover networks, this is the only AoIP system that will automatically and synchronously fill in audio packets from the secondary network in the event of a primary network failure. Additionally, using IEEE1588 GPS-locked master clock generators and Dante Domain Manager, this webinar will cover how to get full 24-bit linear audio form one location to another.
About Your Instructors
Al Salci, Vice-President, Sierra Automated Systems & Engineer Corporation and Bernie Farkus, Senior Technical Sales Engineer, Audinate
Al Salci is a veteran analog and digital designer, and software engineer with more than 35 years experience in broadcast communications. Originally from Toronto, ON, Canada, Al holds a Bachelor of Science (BSC) from a local Toronto College of Electrical Engineering & Technology. Al started his radio manufacturing career as director of engineering at McCurdy Radio Industries. In 1986 Al joined up with Ed Fritz, another veteran design engineer in Burbank, CA, and started Sierra Automated Systems & Eng. Corp. that specializes in high-density digital audio distribution and management systems, audio control console surfaces, large-scale AoIP systems, and fully integrated IFB and intercom systems. SAS is celebrating more than 35 years of supplying high-end, large-scaled integrated digital audio distribution and fully networked console systems.
In the second half, Bernie Farkus will present. As senior technical sales engineer at Audinate, Bernie’s responsibilities are to help facilitate the wide adoption of Dante and other Audinate products by working with integrators, consultants, and end users. He also co-develops education and training programs. He has more than 35 years of experience, including roles as a system designer, project manager and field applications engineer, and sales engineer. His work history includes key roles with companies such as Lectrosonics, ClearOne Communications and Sierra Automated Systems.
