Moving audio over Ethernet goes back to the early 1990s. The advantages of moving audio over Ethernet networks has become clear throughout the live sound, radio, television, theater, audio and video studio and AV industries. The need for standards that allow interoperability between systems from different manufacturers has become clear to everyone. Join us as Ken Tankel, senior product specialist, Telos Alliance discusses how the AES67 standard for high-performance streaming audio-over-IP interoperability has become the standard that television and radio engineers are demanding in order to meet their interoperability requirements. The SMPTE standard ST2110-30 for audio over IP uses AES67 as the basis of ST2110-30. This presentation looks at what the AES67 standard is and what it is not. This is what everyone that has to make decisions about using audio over IP (AoIP) needs to know.
