SIP Series, Module 1: Introduction to Voice Over IP/SIP Technology Systems

Originally streamed Sept. 16, 2021

Module 1 kicks off this four-part SIP series and is designed specifically to provide introductory knowledge of VoIP and related protocols as they relate specifically to broadcast applications. The practical capabilities and application of VoIP and SIP in broadcast facilities and relevant topics like choke lines and audio quality, will be discussed.

This educational presentation will be useful for broadcast technologists with little to no direct experience with VoIP, as well as for those who are currently tasked with maintaining VoIP systems but would like to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying technology. It will serve as a basis for the topics discussed in the future SIP Series modules.
