This session reviews what changed in the CAP priority system, EAN triggers and some new features you may have gotten to boot. Digital Alert Systems & Sage units will be discussed. The latest NPRM from the FCC will also be discussed.

Brad Humphries has been in the radio engineering field for more than 20 years. He is currently the director of engineering with Infinity/CBS & Beasley Media group – Beasley Charlotte cluster.  Brad has been recognized with professional industry awards and was Engineer of the Year for local SBE Chapter 45 and Beasley Media Group.  He has been in amateur radio for 30 years and is the ARRL South Carolina section technical coordinator, ARRL Roanoke Division assistant director, 5BDXCC, WAZ, WAS.  Brad is also interested in photography and videography.

Ed Czarnecki, Ph.D. is the Senior Director of Strategic and Global Engagements at Digital Alert Systems, a leading provider of emergency alert solutions for broadcast, cable television, and other industries. Ed is responsible for developing and managing relationships with key industry organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote the use of advanced emergency alerting technologies and standards.  He also serves Chairman of the NextGen Video Information Systems Alliance (NVISA), and vice chair of the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) Advanced Emergency Information Implementation Team.  Ed was the primary contributor of the Advanced Emergency Information specification in the ATSC 3.0 NextGen TV standard.  In addition to serving as the company’s liaison to standards bodies, Ed has also served on key FCC and FEMA emergency alerting committees.
