Back to Basics – Network Design & Configuration – Part 2

Originally streamed October 17, 2023

The “Back to the Basics – Network Design & Configuration” webinar series provides an understanding of the fundamentals required in the design of, implementation of and support of an IP network in a broadcast and real-time media environment. It focuses on understanding the underlying theory of IP networking from the physical infrastructure to the features offered by today’s switched Ethernet technology to ensure network performance and security.

The audience for this webinar series includes those looking for a basic tutorial in IP network design concepts, those seeking a refresher or review of design considerations or as a study resource for those seeking SBE CBNT/CBNE certification.

Part 2 continues with a focus on configuration considerations with an emphasis on IP addressing and sub-netting concepts for efficient use of IPv4 address space. Whereas IPv4 is the primary focus, IPv6 basics are also included. The webinar provides a practical design example incorporating the fundamentals and principals presented throughout the webinar series. A detailed design and configuration document is provided as a reference for future use.
