Part 1
Originally streamed August 24, 2023
The Network Design & Configuration – Back to Basics webinar series provides an understanding of the fundamentals required in the design of, implementation of and support of an IP network in a broadcast and real-time media environment. It focuses on understanding the underlying theory of IP networking from the physical infrastructure to the features offered by today’s switched Ethernet technology to ensure network performance and security.
The audience for this webinar series includes those looking for a basic tutorial in IP network design concepts, those seeking a refresher or review of design considerations or as a study resource for those seeking SBE CBNT/CBNE certification.
Part 1 focuses on network architecture and design with an emphasis on insuring performance and security. Practical approaches to building a segmented network infrastructure through the use of VLANs in a switched Ethernet environment are the foundation and include the principals of inter-network routing and packet filtering.
