Real-Time Media in a Cloud-Native World

With the push for broadcasters to move everything to the Cloud, everyone seems to have some kind of workflows moving there. But what does “the Cloud” really mean? We’ll look at the different types of cloud, application types in cloud, and solutions, or lack there of, for real-time media to get an understanding of the cloud ecosystem, and how it affects broadcast.

Chris LappChris Lapp, CBT, Technical Solutions Architect, Media & Entertainment

Chris Lapp is a technical solutions architect, and the technical lead for the Media and Entertainment vertical in North America.  He provides thought leadership to sales teams and customers, helping media customers realize their business outcomes through Cisco technology. Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Cisco from experience in the broadcast industry with operations, manufacturing, and system integration.

 Chris is a Certified Broadcast Technologist with the Society of Broadcast Engineers and holds a diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Broadcast Systems Technology. Chris is also an active member of SMPTE, holding the position of membership director, and participates in standards and Working Groups across SMPTE, AIMS, VSF, and others.
